The book that Beverly will be reading this year is THREE CUPS OF TEA by Greg Mortenson. It is the story about his work building schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan and the events that started him on his humanitarian journey.
Retired Beverly Police officer Joe DiAngelo is excited about reading the book. "I read about that guy in OUTSIDE or BACKPACKER. He is an inspiration."
There area three versions of the book - a beautiful picture book version called LISTEN TO THE WIND by Mortenson and illustrated by Susan Roth, a young readers' edition and the bestselling version written in 2004.
